AGATE : AGATE is not AGT. AGATE is a program that allows you todesign a text adventure using menus and editors as opposed to writingsource code. It may have started out with AGT in mind, but no longerresembles AGT as far as flexability and power.In AGT you had to type this into an editor in order to create a room.ROOM [Porch]PorchSouth [Driveway]North [Foyer]Points 5Player_WinEND_ROOMROOM_DESCR [Porch]You are standing on the porch of a dusty old mansion.END_ROOM_DESCRIn AGATE you have a Main Menu at the top of the screen. From thereyou have the Room Menu that opens up to a list of all the roomsin your game. Select the room you want to edit or insert a new one,and you will be presented with an easy to navigate editor. Using thecursor keys or mouse, you select the data about that room that youwant to edit. The editor is broken down into four parts:
AGATE : Room Label: PorchRoom Name: PorchRoom Description:You are standing on the porch of a dusty old mansion.(These are pretty self explanitory. Move the cursor up and down toselect the feild that you want to edit. Everything else works justlike a normal text editor...cursor movements, backspace, insert,delete. The description field will only show you the first two linesof text. When you try to type anything in this field besides up ordown, it pulls up a full screen editor and you can edit thatdescription to your hearts content. AGATE : I have a dog named Agate. I posted about her before. We recently had toput her companion of 12 years down, Aug. 22. Agate is 12 and Sugar was16. Since her death Agate has been acting weird. At first she didn'teven acknowledge Sugar's death. After we put her down we laid Sugar'slifeless body on the porch floor until we dug a hole to bury her. Agatewas wagging her tail and came up and sniffed Sugar. She came outsidewith us when buried Sugar and Agate wasn't phased. Now however she isacting different. Agate tends to whimper more, for attention and whilebegging, she always did this but it's noticeably more than usual. Shealso shakes a lot like she is nervous. Are these signs that Agate missesSugar?I also have a totally different question. We have a bowl of food forAgate in the kitchen. She always grabs one to three pieces of food andbrings them all the way across the house into the living room. She setsthem on the floor, sometimes she eats them and sometimes she just leavesthem there and goes back and eats at her bowl, pieces still in theliving room. Also sometimes we have to coax her into eating the food sheleft on the living room floor. I'll tell you one thing, it doesn't feelgood to step on the food barefoot.
