AMETHYST PENDANTS : BTW, the bracelet was pretty, but nothing crazy: 6 mm amethyst beads,sleeping beauty turquoise nuggets, and 3 strand end pieces from Marilee. Ihad assorted Bali/Bali style spacers on each strand. I made a similar onewhen I got home, so the charity auction didn't get ripped off.The charity people were delighted when they got my stuff: an amber rondellenecklace with sterling silver 3 mm spacers and an amber, green and orangedichro pendant; the amethyst/turquoise set, a pearl and coral set, anNdebele chain in seafoam green seeds, and an Ndbele chain in jade green withtwo jade donuts as pendants. (the pendants were linked and attached to thenecklace with Peyote links in 22K delicas). They're estimating at least$1,000 for my donation. The $100 I got for my bracelet pretty much coveredmy costs, so I did pretty well.

I've been trying to getup enough courage to go to higher end places and see if they'll carry mypieces. After all, the worst that can happen is that they fall downlaughing, saying "You call THAT jewelry????".... talk about your worst casescenarios!!! LOL

There is no comparingWalmart jewelry to Handcrafted jewelry.You need to find the people who recognize the difference to buy yourcreations. Sometimes that means educating people as to why yours is better.It also means trying to show your work at places where you will find peoplewho know the difference. This is not to say everyone at Walmart isuneducated, poor, etc. But, it's not a place where people will be in theright mindset for your work. Maybe gear up to do some better craft shows.Or, as you say, try shops and galleries.I absolutely agree with you, what's the worst that can happen. Take therisk.Kathy H
