BEADED NECKLACES : I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm hoping to get a little feedback. Idesign and make my own beaded jewelry and was thinking about making somerelated to figure skating ( silver skating pendants on beaded necklaces).Mynecklaces and bracelets are high quality and all one of a kind. There isn't amarket for them where I live, so I planned on selling them online. Is thissomething that would interest any of you? I thought they would make greatpresents at Christmas. I started this business because I love making jewelryand to fund my skating "habit". Any feedback would be appreciated. It probably wouldn't interest me personally, since postage and packing to the UK would mean that it would cost toomuch to be viable for me to order, but do go for it. But be sure youhave a really good digital camera (or scanner) to make the picturesof your products on the Web really accurate. Publicity is all, but of course groups like this don't really like publicity.You could arrange to be quoted in the monthly list of suppliers, and,of course, you could put something in your .Sig about it. BEADED NECKLACES : A nice lady taught me how to crochet a beaded necklace without a "corker"about 30 years ago. I just came across the four inches or so that I haddone already. It starts by stringing upteen zillion beads on a reallystrong cotton thread, then some sort of crochet in a circle so it forms arope tube. BEADED NECKLACES : I think somebody asked a similar question here recently, but I didn't seeany replies (disclaimer: my news feed is lousy), so here goes:Some years back I had a nice little side income from selling beadednecklaces to two stores here (Ottawa); one on commission and the othercash outright for the necklaces. Since I did it mostly because I ended up with too much to wear myself andnot as a profit-making venture, I swore I'd never make quite the samething twice, and never make anything I wouldn't wear myself. (An odd sortof quality control, but appropriate for the bead junky. My grade fourreport card says I should `leave my beads at home.' I'm still proud ofthat. Anyway.) I got `beader's block,' lost creativity, and stoppedselling things.I'm now `unblocked.' Both of the stores I dealt with have since goneunder, and I have far more necklaces than I can wear, and more in themaking...
