CHARM BRACELETS : I have 3 charm bracelets. One is a vintage (from the 1950s)sterlingchild's bracelet that my sister gave me--it was hers in the 50s, andwhen she heard I love charm bracelets, she gave it to me! It's verycute with lots of little-kid-type charms (a ballerina, an old-fashionedphone, a globe, two old-fashioned tephones, a treasure chest, cowboyboots, etc.).Another is a tiney gold-toned child's bracelet wiht just 5 charms onit--mailed to me by either my great-aunt or my grandmother (can'tremember anymore) when I was about 6 or 7.My third bracelet is made of gorgeous, chunky loops, like no pther I'veever seen. My mom bought it for me about 10 or 15 years ago and it isfull of charms that Mom and other family members have bought for me--acouple of peace symbols, a dog, a dolphin, a stethoscope, a couple ofcats, a heart locket, etc.I love my charm bracelets, but I have so much other jewelry that I love,too, so I hardly ever remember to wear them.
CHARM BRACELETS : One of my aunts (and godmother) started one for me - I can't even remember when itwas just a bracelet ... by the time I was 6, it was almost as full as it is now.I was the only child in the family for a while, and this Aunt travelled a lot, so Ihave charms from all over the place, places I've never been to ... and it'sfascinating. I have added a few charms in recent years from my travels.I started a gold charm bracelet in my late teens, which I wear all the time. Idon't have many charms on it, and it is quite difficult to find ones which aresmall enough to put on it. I was pretty disappointed when I went to New Orleansthat I couldn't find any dainty enough.I now have a God-daughter, and my christening present to her was a charm bracelet -I think I've only added a cable car charm so far ... hm, that reminds me, I'dbetter get working on that bracelet for her! :)

( Which reminds me of the time I wore it to NJ, got offthe plane and into the car and realized the body had come off.. I wasdevastated, but wrote it off that at least I enjoyed it while I had it. Cometo find out we found the piece on the floor of the car the next day.. straightto the jeweler it went)
CHARM BRACELETS : Now I am in the process of starting a silver one. The silver charms are mucheasier to find and more affordable. So far, a car, a dog, a Michigan, abasket, a mailbox, and a few others. I want 10 before I will take it to thejeweler to get them soddered on. -i have silver charm bracelet that i started years ago and it's soloaded i never wear it. in fact, i may split the charms and make itinto two. i also have a gold one with less charms but i started itlater. maybe i should get some more charms for it. i love the movingones a lot.I have a silver charm bracelet that I had as a child. My favorite charm is thevery first one, which was a silver disk with a birthday cake in the middle and"Happy Birthday" on it. I never wear it anymore, but I do take it out and lookat it from time to time.
CHARM BRACELETS : I also have a bunch of gold charms that at one point I had made into a charmnecklace. It was charms from all the places either we or my parents hadtraveled. My favorite was a cuckoo clock from Germany (from my parents). Iended up taking the necklace apart for some reason and very rarely wear thecharms. I think I'll make it up again, thanks to this thread.I have my mom's, which is amazing. It has the standard "milestone" charms --graduation, engagement, wedding, 21st birthday, and a bunch I'm forgetting.I have one of my own that has those kitschy enameled U.S. state charms. I havea bunch of states, but won't put the charm on the bracelet until I've visitedthat state. I have ten more states to go -- but I'll visit two new ones (MNand NE) this week!
