COLLEGE CLASS RINGS : Maybe the choices available here have improved by now, but I remember theclass rings back when I was in school as being really clunky andunattractive pieces of jewelry. (Besides the fact I thought the rings forthe high school I graduated from were really ugly, I didn't get one becauseI didn't officially graduate until after I had been in college a year. Iwasn't eligible to buy the ring for the class I attended school with, and Ihad no interest in buying one for a class I knew no one in, a year after I'dleft high school. My brother and I did end up in the high school yearbookfor the year we finished, but only because the advisor and staff of theyearbook realized they had no pictures for us when they were doing thelayout, asked why, and then said they would refuse to publish a yearbook ifour pictures weren't included with that senior class. My mother got a callto rush us over to the studio of the photographer who did the schoolpictures with about 30 minutes warning, and I think that was one of myall-time worst pictures, wearing a dress I would never have picked for aphoto session, but it did make the yearbook, LOL,)--&%) SheilaTo reply to me, you must add the prefix real. to my address.
COLLEGE CLASS RINGS : But it you're a guy and your sweetie is a girl, then it's likelyyour finger is several sizes larger than hers. So she'll have to wraptons of yarn around the ring so it'll fit on her finger. Or shecan hang it from a chain around you neck. COLLEGE CLASS RINGS : I still wear my college ring daily - 3 years & 3 months after graduation(nothing compared to Piglet, but WOW for me :) I got a smaller/more contemporary style that doesn't look like a school ring at first glancein real gold & rose quartz (school colors are red & gold - I wear lotsof pink). "Seattle Pacific University" around the stone, "BS" and "90"on the sides. My name is engraved inside.If I could have worked my major (CompSci) in this style I would've -but I love it as it is, and the styling is why I find it comfortableto wear while typing all day and tearing computers apart :)I wore my high school ring through college until I got my Aggie ring. I planto wear my Aggie ring from now on, as long as it fits, or until I see fit topass it on to children or relatives as an heirloom. I'm proud to have anextra token of the schools I graduated from, and feel that wearing my ringshows my pride.
COLLEGE CLASS RINGS : Hey everybody! This is obviously an off-topic post, but it could beargued that rings can be fashion statements. :) I am going to graduate in about a year and am wondering if I should buy agraduation ring. My tastes are simple and I am not planning to flash my graduation ring for all to see. I am considering a signet or atraditional ring with my year of graduation, school crest, and initialsimprinted on the ring. These rings aren't cheap...the signet is around$400 and the traditional is close to $500. Is it irrational of me to wantto buy a grad ring when it is so expensive? I guess I want to know if agrad ring is worth buying.Also, what finish do you think is best? We have 10K, 14K and 18K as wellas siladium. There are also stone options...but they are all synthetic. I am thinking of getting the 18K but I am not sure yet.

I wore it just about every day of my senior year, about half of my junior, butafter the cermmony I took it off, and that was it. I always wore it on myright ring finger, but that was also when trading rings with a loved one meantsomething- then I wore his on my thumb and he put mine on his pinkie- becausethat's where they fit.I assume from the sig line that this is to be a college ring. I guess youshould get it if you think you'll wear it, otherwise, why bother? I neverreally had to make this decision for college (in my 4th year now, graduatingthis spring), because a ring isn't really in the character of the school.. itwould have been rather odd. (Think Yugo with leather interior and Bose audio-type odd.)You only graduate once, but really, will you wear it? I know some who do andsome who don't. All really an individual thing.
