charms for charm bracelets, Garnet, engagement rings, gold charms

CRAFT BEADS : However, all of these types of things seem to go in trends, and in a whileprobably a lot of the people who move from hobby to hobby will move off ofthis one (many of those possibly the ones who look like they are doingcookie-cutter work but actually are just new). Some of the cookie-cutterpeople will stay and serve the low-end clientele (like me :) ) who can'tafford the good stuff or just want spacers or whatever, while the truly goodpeople will remain the artisans, and when the economy turns around peoplewill be buying from them for their truly superior artwork, as they didbefore and as they are to a much lower degree now because of theoverwhelming amount of sellers and the glut in the economy.I myself didn't start making jewelry because it was popular, I startedbecause my cousin got me into it and we thought it would be a fun idea toreally start making things and selling them at craft-fairs etc. Only AFTERthat did I discover how popular it had gotten, join rec.craft.beads, andeven learn about the existence of online bead-buying, not to mention theexistence of lampwork (we had been using mostly seed-beads and some ceramicsand other things bought dearly at local bead-shops and accumulated by mycousin over the years. Not to mention plastic fishing-line tied in our bestguesses at knots and a lot of plastic because we didn't know better at thetime...not that I am sure most customers would notice or care). Well, now Imight know better, but I can;t get into 8 out of 10 shows because they"already have enough jewelry stands".

CRAFT BEADS : I don't much know what I'm doing yet and rely on all of your advice on thesematters, but from a higher level I see myself as part of the pattern all toowell. People who I met at a couple of craft fairs who stopped makingjewelry because they couldn't sell enough and started making fancy soapswill probably be in the same position in a year or two, when everyone ismaking fancy soap.Thinking of my "Real Life" job, the real world isn't much different... thereis a glut in the market of people trying to sell half-baked "thirdgeneration wireless" systems and none of our consumers (cell-phonecompanies) have money right now, so we thrash back and forth between makingthe best and trying to finish first and (apparently) executiveswining-and-dining other executives and who knows what-all other nonsense, sothat the best product probably won't win, but at some point the market willturn around and there will probably be work for the remaining players withpretty good products.

CRAFT BEADS : um, that was probably a bunch of drivel but hopefully I got my point across......back to trying to get RealPlayer to work so I can watch classes so Ican rip off a term-paper in a weekend... I won't go into the pros and consto myself personally of grade inflation or the fact that I'm allowing myselfto be part of a mediocre group of "master's degree" students instead ofbecoming as good a Graduate Student as I had wanted to... which makes sensesince I picked the least-lame of the really close schools so I could takeclasses at night while working, and am taking classes at night whileworking. If I want to be the 'artisan' in this part of my life I'll have to find away to be more serious about graduate school and go on with a PhD, or not doit at all. Funny how all things are reflecting back on eachother andeconomic patterns and all when one is philosophizing on one's life and thelives of others on a newsgroup instead of doing homework.....

CRAFT BEADS : There are certain things (most of them fairly obvious if you stop and thinkabout it) that you can get at craft stores, available in larger quantitiesand/or for less $, when compared to fly shops.I think of craft shops as the "Costco" of fly tying supplies. For example, most craft shops carry many different types and sizes of chenille at reallycheap prices compared to the carded stuff you'll find at a fly shop. Manycraft shops also carry turkey and duck feathers, peacock herl, wool, marabou, foam, polypropelene yarn, lanyard, rabbit fur, wire, thread, raffia, rubber, tinsel, epoxy, doll eyes, pheasant tails, and a plethora ofother natural and man-made materials. Granted, some may not be usable, andbuying 50 yards of polypropelene yarn when you only want to tie a couple orthree dozen flies may be overkill, craft shops tend be a good value forbasic (and experimental) fly tying materials.

CRAFT BEADS : Is it just me, or have things lately been springing from "read" to "unread"in the board?I have been using Outlook Express. I have loved that until the last week orso.I keep threads I am interested in in the "Watch This Thread" mode whihc Ithink is really cool because it makes those subjects turn red, and bold redif there are new posts on them.Howver, for the last week or so, random posts would become re-bolded which Ihad defaintely already read.--====================================== =What is Mucha, the world's most self-proclaimedPretty Birdy, doing today?Find out for yourself at====================================== =Could be your Usenet server having resetting problems. Sometimes it can losethe connection, and when it comes back, it "forgets".Actually, it's been happening to me as well, which makes me think it's aproblem upstream, perhaps with the server backbone somewhere.
