The money that your FH would get in the form of acredit is not money *from* his earlier engagement. It's money that he eitherearned, inherited, hustled, or otherwise acquired, independent of his connection tohis ex. Unless of course she or her family financed that ring, which I don't thinkis the case, since the original poster said she gave the ring "back." So this ismoney he has had all along, which has been temporarily tied up in the ring.Release the money by getting a jeweler credit, and it's back to being just money.Would it make you feel better if he used "that money" to pay for groceries,rent/mortgage, car payments, insurance, etc, and then used the money he would haveused for those expenses to buy you your lovely diamond drop earrings?jb
