They hate doing nothing,and they can't stay still.It would seem the latest pop in the Dow above 10,000 is being driven bymoney managers who are committing their increasing pile of cash to highquality securities. With names like Dell trading well off their highsearlier in the week, it looks like the big money can't hold it any longer.These bullish forces are being resisted by all the "grown-ups" out therewho feel that being short at these lofty levels will yield gains once themarket awakens from its valuation fantasy. In some stocks and some sectorsthese feelings have merit. But when you look at the market as a whole, youwill discover that quality (finding it and buying it) is job #1.

Our friends atLIMresearch.com showed something interesting yesterday - a comparison ofwhat happens to a classic like Intel and a new kid like Yahoo after theNASDAQ starts off a week on a very high note. This study showed that whenbig tech stocks take off, they continue to rally. So, if you have Dell orApple or Intel, there is more upside to come regardless of what is in thepro's spreadsheets. However, this study threw up a cautionary note aboutall these silly internet stocks like Yahoo. Specifically, over the lasttwo years, Yahoo has actually declined noticeably as some of the biggertech names rallied. It was almost as if the big benefited at the expenseof the high flyers.What's the bottom line? If you have big profits in the high flying sillysector, take your money. Consider committing it to either a small capstock with a solid story or a big name that money managers will continue tochase. While you're at it, remember that choppy action, especially in the10,000 neighborhood, is likely a sign of shorts resisting the buyingpressure.
