FIBER OPTIC BEADS : So, does anyone know what the properties of cat's eye are said to be asopposed to tiger's eye?(Not that its terribly important, I love this cat's eye - you can even seethrough it to an extend if the angle is right. It felt so much better thanthe crystal balls, which, to be honest, felt like plastic (and at only $30and flawless, I think perhaps they were))--"A cat, by any other name, is still a sneaky little furball that barfs onthe furniture" has a good crystals guide but not much on cats eye - it seemslike it'd be similar to hawkseye, aka blue tigers eye listed under T forTigerseye.By the way where is this witchy shop - i can tell from you nick and priorinformation youre a fellow aussie, and im having a hell of a hard timefinding a witchy shop - only found one shop that comes close.But yes, from what i see catseye has the same properties as tigers eye - itsjust prettier.

I recently got my sister asmall catseye necklace in hawaii - a stone very similar to the one youdescribed except tiny and low quality, so let me say i understand why you'vefallen in love (metaphorically).Newtown has more than its fair share of "witchy" and "candle & crystal"shops, as well as some great cheap cafes and eateries. Pagans seem to beattracted to the area, so there must be something about it :-)Yowie, What you are describing sounds like colored, polished fiber optic cable. Ihave a white piece with the same properties. I can hold it at the proper angleover writing and see right through the stone. Does the area around the eyeappear milky? Just wondering. I have seen several of these type of pieces atsome of the new age shops in town. Though I first made my acquaintance with onefrom a rock and gem shop where I do most of my shopping. They even get inoptical quality quartz crystal balls on occasion.

I often pick upon energies in these shops - many times I can't stay in them due to mywildly beating heart and sudden uncomfortable feeling, and in other "better"shops I feel that "something" has lured me in and I need to do something.But this one didn't feel like *anything*. i still love my purple ball, butI'm now quite sure its a fibre optic ball rathe than something naturallyoccuring. I guess some people are just out to make money and its "buyerbeware". I mean, a 2 inch natural quartz crystal with absolutely *no* flawsfor only AUS$30 - I don't think so.
