There is a 1 pound minimum order (you did saywholesale!) but you can make up the pound from several styles, in (I think) 1/4pound increments. Maybe even smaller. Prices run from $130/lb-$210/lb,depending on the size and style. I buy only their furnace glass (about 3-4 lbsa year) cos I love the subtle, not-crayon colors.I did just get a msg from them that says they are taking a studio vaca from Dec19 to Jan 7, so you may not be able to get a catlog and place an order beforethen. I don't know... didn't 'zing' with me.There is a local fellow who makes the most delicious furnace glass. It looksedible, I swear to you! I lust over it all the time. LOL!Anyway, he sells by the pound only. YIKES! I'm sure his prices are fair,though they are by no means the lowest around. I always prefer to pay alittle more if it means I'll be getting what I really want.Anyway, just thought I'd ask here to see how MUCH more this is going to be.LOL! FURNACE GLASS BEADS : Does anyone know what "furnace glass" beads are made of (kind of glass)and what technique they use to make them?"Furnace glass" is a phrase often used to describe Soda-Lime glass.Morretti glass is a kind of "furnace glass" but most people use it in alampworking environment (although some people use it in a hot shop {i.e.Peter Ivy...see latest issue of New Glass Review for more detail on hiswork, although the work pictured is all clear glass}) to make beads on amandrel. A better way to describe the style of working (as opposed to the chemicalmake up of the glass) is to call it "off-hand" glass blowing. Some people even refer to soda-lime glass as "soft glass", while Pyrexwould be called "hard glass". To make beads "off-hand" one would gather, blow a bubble like a normalvessel start. Gather again. Through you favorite shaping technique, drivethe bubble to the bottom of 'the mass". You should have a "bag-like" shape,with a VERY THIN bottom. Make sure that the sides of the bubble do not gettoo thin, but remain a consistent thickness. Heat and marver into acylinder-kinda-thing, then pull as if you were doing a normal cane pull filligrana, not twisted kind { although an optic-stuff will give you coolbeads if you twist it, as will color on different layers}). I have foundthat annealing my "hollow cane", it seems to nip up (using tile nippers)without too many flakes. I also have a saw for larger diameter pulls.
