HIP HOP JEWELRY : You know that silver jewelry stand at Knott's? It's located just across fromlittle stage where the indians dance. Anyway, we're walking by it today andone of the ladies who works there was holding up these very gaudy silver and(fake) diamond necklaces. Big heavy chains with "#1" and "Raiders"medallions hanging from them. She said "We got your bling bling righthere!". So we stopped to look around and I jokingly told my friend heshould get one of them. He said "no, I'll just wear my clock around my neckinstead". I told the lady we weren't interested in the gangasta jewelry,but she insisted that it was 'hip-hop jewelry', to which I said "samething". She said "You guys probably listen to Blink 182 anyway, or LimpBizkit" (she couldn't be more wrong).

My thing is that the way Hip Hop iscurrently projected, you'd think that all it's really about isglorifying gangsterism, chickenheads, and jewelry. The Hip Hop I wasraised on had these elements, but not to the degree we're seeing today.It's almost as if obtaining knowledge and being in harmony with yourbrother/sister while having fun is like kryptonite. KRS-One and Wise Intelligent would runon the Socialist ticket but like most Socialist candidates they wouldquickly get squashed. Kool Keith and Ol Dirty could run as pres andVP from the Nutty Stinking Kettle of Fish Looney Bin Monster RavingBehemoth Insanity Party. Their popularity could jeapordize Chuck'schances of winning and throw a split vote victory to the Slim Shadyticket, with Royce the Five-Nine as his VP, naturally.

Personally, if I think Hip-Hopwere to rule this country (pipe dream, but still), I can't see one single head. It'd be more socialist, I don't know why but I see it moving that way.But, should the Old Regime's ways still go, and capitalism still grow, I thinkCommon wouldn't be a bad choice. He's not overbearing, but not too subtle,either. He's someone I could vote for.
