JEWELLERY EARRINGS : Antiques Roadshow is the same...we see both the English version and there isan American version.Sometimes people throw it away, because they think it's junk, notjunque...:-)--MeijhanaDesigns - Unique Earrings and More!"Helen Page" wrote in message..."Mary Rurup" wrote in message...Thought that might be the case, thanks to Sky (digital satellite) TV wewatch loadsa American TV as well as UK stuff - we like watching TradingSpaces (our version is called Changing Rooms) and Judge Judy (she is onefeisty woman!)But I can't imagine throwing something like that away, even if it wassomething I didn't have a clue about, like fishing paraphenalia or the like.If it looked in usable condition I would send it to the charity shop.Helen and Mary,I also love "Bargin Hunt". They show that in the US on cable. I tell youwhat, I think that you folks over there have a utensil for every season andevery reason. There are more little specialized gadgets and containers anduntensils on that show. Haven't seen any salt spoons; I think that's causeShirley always beats them to the purchase!!!!

JEWELLERY EARRINGS : Could be right because I have another batch to send to any would be Shirley's Spoon Club members.ShirleyLOL!!!! I want to come over there and go antiquing with you :)Kathy H"Shirley Shone" wrote in message...I went to two antique fairs yesterday with my son Chris. I got two lots of beads. One lot was clear beads with blue and gold bits floating around in them. Well not really floating but just looked as if the colours had been stirred in.The other were drop beads but made of plastic. They look quite good and I thought they would look well on a bottle.I had a look at some Victorian steel buttons in a velvet case. My neighbours daughter was selling them on her stall. They were really nice but at 30GBP's they were a bit too rich for me. That was a special price to me. DH sometimes does slight repairs on some of the smaller pieces of furniture for her. So I get a reduction.

JEWELLERY EARRINGS : It is getting towards the end of the antique fair season. It usually stops for the summer apart from the big one at Newark with its 4,000 stalls. Have to leave home at 6am to get there early for the bargains. It costs 5 pounds to get in to it on the public day. The first day is trade day and it costs 20 pounds to get in. Sometimes I only have 20 pounds to spend so those days get knocked on the head before I start.Kathy I would love to take you to the antique fairs.LoveShirleyI am surprised. I would have thought that summer would be the big seasonfor antique fairs.Kathy"Shirley Shone" wrote in message...All the fairs are held indoors. apart from the Newark and another one at Swinderby. We went to one at Swinderby once and they leave things out on stalls overnight. This particular time it had rained overnight and then we had a heavy frost. Thing were frozen to the stalls and it was hard plucking them off. I did not fancy getting anything from there. That was when I was collecting old needlework tools. I was not into beads then.

JEWELLERY EARRINGS : The "Unfinished Series" include stories which, for onereason or another, I never finished writing.Your assignment, should you decide to accept it,is to write an ending, or the next segment, or a sequel to what has already been written. If you do manage to complete the story,I'd very much like to read what you've written. It is a hot summer's day on the sunny, white sandbeach. But in myseaside villa, the air conditioner blows refreshing, coolair. I patiently awaitthe arrival of my photographic subjects for the day and busymyself witharranging various lights and props on the set that I'vecreated---a smallgypsy campsite, complete with the fake exterior of acaravan. I don't usuallyspend a lot of time with pre-photographic production since alot of my shotscome from on-the-spot decisions, but I do like to make sureI know what'savailable and ready to use. The doorbell rings. I answer it to find Stacey, aneighteen year oldmodel smiling at me. She has long golden hair and thebrightest of blueeyes. "Hi! Am I on time?" "Oh, sure," I reply. "Come on in." Stacey follows me to the studio portion of my villa, where the gypsyset has been created, and I show her to the dressing-room.The doorbellrings again. "Back in a minute," I say. She nods, smiles at me,and I return to thefront door. Waiting for me are Paige, a black-haired andviolet-eyed sixteen yearold; Gwendolyn, a ravishing nineteen year old redhead withgreen eyes; andNikki, seventeen, a hazel-eyed brunette. "Hi, girls! Nice to see you again." I lead thenthrough to the dressing-room where they greet Stacey. All of them have workedtogether as a groupbefore, so the present shoot shouldn't prove to be aproblem. "You've gotabout fifteen minutes to get ready, so hop to it." They giggle and joke as only teenaged girls can asthe door closedand I returned to the set to put some finishing touches onthe caravan. Ialways marvel at the way they can switch from being almostchildish in theirantics to maturity when on the set. About fifteen minutes later, the four girls appearfrom the dressing-room, all of them wearing gypsy-style clothes---colourfulflounced skirts, white blouses with puffy sleeves, short vests, and variouspieces ofjewellery. Earrings, broaches, dangling bracelets, ringsand anklets. They look extremely attractive with their makeup on,their long hairentwined with little flowers. I'm pretty confident I'll beable to get somebeautiful shots---not only fortheir portfolios, but assamples for my own aswell. Laughing and whispering lightly amongst themselves, they glide onbare feet to the set and situate themselves in the positionsI indicate to themto start with. I check the setup through the viewfinder of mycamera. It looks good---a group shot of four teenaged girls. After several shotslike this, I'll startbreaking them up into singles and groups of twos and threes. I take several shots from this particular angle, then begin to move toanother one. "Change positions, please, girls--it's lookinggreat!" I encouragethem. The four girls switch automatically to new posesquite smoothlybecause they've been doing this for a year or so already. Just then, during one of the moves, Nikkiaccidentally steps onPaige's toes. The younger model lets out a screech whichsounds probablymore for effect than actual pain. "Hey! Watch it, clumsy!" Then Nikki does something which, from my pastknowledge of her, istotally out of character. Normally even-tempered andtolerant of such things, she suddenly shoves Paige backwards and yells, "Shut up,bitch, and get outof my way!" "Girls, girls--" I begin, putting my camera down, but now it is too late. The next thing I know, Paige has jumped on Nikki andboth of them fallto the floor. Stacey and Gwendoline shriek with surprise and stepbackwards andtheir two model friends begin to toussle on the floor, eachof them pullingthe other's hair and grabbing at clothes to try and get agood grip. Suddenly there is a loud ripping noise as Nikkigrabs the front ofPaige's blouse and pulls at it. The buttons pop off, thewhole front of theblouse tears away to reveal Paige's small, but tautbreasts...

JEWELLERY EARRINGS : In the Neolithic age, when a wandering life of hunting and gatheringmade way for settled communities, the people of Anatolia began toplace burial gifts in graves. These gifts included necklaces, bracelets and rings made of diverse stones, teeth, horns and bones ofanimals, and sea shells. The earliest Anatolian jewellery, dating frombetween 7000 and 5000 BC, has been found in excavations of Cayonu inDiyarbakir, and Catalhoyuk, Asiklar Hoyuk and Kosk Hoyuk in centralAnatolia.Jewellery made of precious metals begins in the 4th millennium BC,although very few examples from this period have been discovered. Bythe 3rd millennium BC, however, skilfully crafted metal jewellery wasbeing produced, and that made of gold found in tombs at Eskiyapar andAlacahoyuk in central Anatolia dating from 2600-2000 BC is exquisiteboth in design and technique. Jewellery made by the Hittites, whoestablished a powerful empire in Anatolia in the 2nd millennium BC,also shows great sophistication, although examples are too scarce tomake any generalisations about its characteristics. Finds dating fromthe 7th century BC, however, are more numerous, particularly inwestern Anatolia. At this period city states founded by HellenicAnatolian peoples ruled the Aegean coast, while the inland areas wereunder Lydian domination. The Lydian capital of Sardis was the maincentre of gold jewellery production.
