JEWELRY CHARM BRACELETS : To the chyks in the group-- did you have a charm bracelet when youwerea girl?It sounds like it could be used as an anchor for an oil tanker.I got a charm necklace for my high school graduation. I can't rememberwhat-all was on it, but I remember a key, a rose, a heart, and a "roundtuit." (Ya know... I would keep saying that I'd do something when I gotaround to it, and the person giving it to me was feeling silly.) I'm notbig on jewelry, so I never really added many charms to it.I have heard that charm bracelets are coming back in. They're a fun gift,if the recipient is in to that kind of thing, or becomes so.I could see adding on with a spanko theme. Ya know--hair brushes,canes.... There would be something deliciously ironic about that. I'dprobably wear one if it had something like *that* attached to it!
JEWELRY CHARM BRACELETS : I did until I was robbed a few years ago. My mother had gotten me charms frommy life..where we lived...what I did as a kid etc. I resent the fact that theywere stolen from me as they weren't worth anything but memories. Ah well. Ishould do one for my daughter. Yanno, I also had a "slave" bracelet that my grandmother had given me from the'20s. It was 3 colors of gold (red, white, yellow) and was large links. JEWELRY CHARM BRACELETS : My favorite babysitter had a charm bracelet with tiny Scottie dogs and cherubson it. And a charm in the shape of a high-heeled shoe. It jingled when shemoved and was tremendously cool. I never had one of the bracelets, but did geta charm necklace for Hanukkah when I was about ten.It only had one charm when my grandmother gave it to me - a little Venetiangondola with a littler gondolier. The only charm I ever added was a Chinesecoin with a panda bear on it. They did jingle together though, so I guess twowas enough.Yup, actually my charm bracelet was my Moms, Mothers bracelet with heads of allus kids on it with our brithdays on then. I put a miniature pictureof my then-boyfriend in the frame.a disk with our high school name engraved on one side and space toengrave something personal on the other side.a tiny notepad in book form with silver covers. I think it's just underthe size of the picture frame. Over the years I added a low-top Keds-like tennis shoe (I was intorunning), a silver flip phone that acatually flipped open (I was acustomer service telephone rep), my birthstone, a tiny silver squaremarked like a calculator, a tiny silver ace of spades (I went to Vegas),a glass bubble with a mustard seed inside (gift from a relative), a cat(I've always had cats), tiny revolving merry-go-round or carousel, ateensy silver spring clothes pin that really opened. Some gottransferred to the other bracelet since the first ran out of availablelinks, and the combination of gold and silver inspired me and fueled mylove of two-tone jewelry. I still wear a Rolex-look silver and goldtoned watch and often wear a silver and gold earring in each ear.Actually I can never decide which color metal I'd like to wear for theday and this means no decision-making.
