I like itbetter than Dallas. Use their maps to mark your spots and comparison shop.Usually in the far back corner are the cheaper places, but not necessarilyless quality. I have gotten some great deals on stones and seeds. Findingsare rare except for expensive gold. Most of the dealers will haggle ifyou're buying in quantity (doesn't have to be a lot either). Never made itto the wholesale part. If you buy enough from a particular dealer, ask themto put you on next year's mailing list and they sometimes will send freetickets. I have been on all three days. Sunday afternoons several of thedealers pack up early, others will have deals. Saturdays are very crowded.Friday afternoons are not bad. If it's at the Astrodome, be careful in thearea. JEWELRY SAPPHIRE PENDANTS : Leslie, Although I haven't been to the Texas shows, I go regularly to theInternational Gem & Jewelry shows in PA. IF you subscribe to Lapidary Journal,they always have an ad in there which you can cut out for free admission to anyInt'l Gem & Jewelry show in the country. The shows are twice a year here, with the Spring shows concentrating onbeads, cabs, Bali silver, jade pendants, gemstone fetishes, vintage glassbeads, lately they also have a lot of precious beaded strands - ruby, emerald,sapphire, some of which are mixed together. If you have a wholesale license,most dealers (even if they are not in the wholesale section) will give you apercentage discount and of course, you don't have to pay tax. The wholesalesection varies a lot at these shows - sometimes it's great and you can save alot, sometimes the prices are just as high or higher than the regular floor. I've found the Fall shows concentrate more on finished jewelry. These shows are also good to attend to see what is coming into themarketplace - faceted beads and large, nugget type beads are popular here. Have a wonderful time. Patti
