MOTHER BRACELETS : The Beading Supplies section is finally going up on the Links List (sorry it'staken me so long). You can find a lot of stuff there -- this particularcategory is really long, so I'm sending it to Kandice in bits and pieces. I'mthrough the Cs so far......(but there is quite a bit there, even though it'sonly the Cs)My computer's acting up.....I think it's on page 2 or 3 of the Links List, butI couldn't connect just now. JohnLennon (1940 - 1980) Royal Varieties Performance~ Dr. Sooz's Bead LinksIt wasn't your computer, Sooz - it was my server. It was down until earliertoday. It's back up now! :)You'll probably get as many different answers as there are people on thelist, we all have our favorites. :-)
MOTHER BRACELETS : For sterling and gold-filled, I buy my stuff from Halsteads Beads() Wholesale number required. Biggest thingI've noticed with the sterling is that you need to pick one supplier andstick with them - since the beads tend to have slightly differentfinishes, and sometimes different hole sizes. Or you can just keeptrack of what came from where. :-)For Swarovski, alphabet beads, and Bali, I buy from INM Crystals(). No wholesale number required. Onlyproblem is they are out of stock on things and don't reflect that on thewebsite. I still have some Bali backordered from a year ago. Gemstones I buy either locally or from Fire Mountain (I know, mostpeople on this list hate them, but I personally haven't had an issue.) We have a local lapidary shop that I can buy wholesale from - the pricesaren't quite as good, but I can see what I'm getting. MOTHER BRACELETS : I sat down one night and put together a spread sheet of prices on thesterling and gold filled to compare different suppliers (I make a lot ofmother's bracelets, so that's my biggest expense.) Different placescame out better on different items/quantities of items, but Halsteadscame out overall the best. And good service too. I've never been to a bead show - none in Wichita, and after my last fewforays to Kansas City to stamping shows, I'm afraid to set foot at theirbead show - I'd have to declare bankruptcy! :-) I recommend Monsterslayer for silver beads, South Pacific for pearls, and Bobby Bead for Japanese seed beads in quantity.I've gotten gemstones I liked from South Pacific, too. And from anin-person local Gem Faire... which is no help if you don't have onehandy. MOTHER BRACELETS : For Czech glass I suggest trying York Beads, where they have lots ofdruks, pressed glass shapes and firepolish for decent quantity-prices.If you are buying in smaller lots, my suggestions are less helpful.Though each of these sources will sell to people without resalecredentials, they do tend to sell at a closer-to-wholesale price andquantity. Hope that helps.I do have a business license - a UBI number - I don't believe I need a"resale certificate" in this state (WA). If anyone knows otherwise, pleasecorrect me!You are in one of the 46 states that have a sales/use tax. Most supplierswill want the number that identifies you to the state/county/cityauthorities as a business collecting sales tax. This number/certificatealso allows you to purchase goods for resale locally minus the WA taxbecause you will be collecting the tax down the line from your customers. MOTHER BRACELETS : Hi there! I am just starting out and I am looking for ways to marketmy bracelets. I make mostly mother's bracelets and salvationbracelets. I also have made lots of just FUN stuff too! I have a website and have paid for a search engine , but have yet to see my website come up on any searches (should show up on aol and msn). I haveheard it takes time, if anyone has any pointers PLEASE let me know. Going through a divorce and I am hoping to stay home with my boysuntil they are in school full time.HELP!TracySoozI am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and thetruth of imagination. -- WilkeOh I want to make salvation bracelets...I used to make something like thatthat had colors representing different things like sin, purity, the blood ofJesus and such. I forgot what order they go in. I know I could sell thoseat the antique shop that I have a showcase in. A lot of Christians go inthere...hmmmI would love to see your work!
