MOVADO WATCHES : I have two brand new Movado dress watches that were purchased from anauthorized dealer in July 1997. The lot consists of one men's watch andone women's. I had intended to give them to my parents as an anniversarypresent, but my brother had the same idea and acted first.Anyway, the men's watch is really sharp, it has large and small blackroman numerals for hour markers, black hands, a gold case, and a white andcream colored face with "MOVADO" in black letters below the trademark golddot. The men's watch retails for $250.The women's watch is also very attractive, with gold slashes for hourmarkers, gold hands, and a gold case. The face is white with "MOVADO" inblack letters under the gold dot. The face also has the numbers 1 through31 written around it with a third hand indicating which number day it is,while a small hand inside a small circle indicates the name of the day.The women's watch retails for $350.Both watches feature black textured calfskin bands; both have theiroriginal boxes, instruction manuals, and signed, dated and numberedwarranty cards. The watches are BRAND NEW and have never been worn.
MOVADO WATCHES : I'm looking to buy a Movado watch, but the market for this brand israther limited in Norway. I got hold of one local dealer (the only!)who used to sell them, but he stopped carrying them about 10 yearsago because of poor sales. He didn't know if there were any dealersleft in Norway.So, what I'm looking for is a good place to get one or more of theselovely watches. Either on the net or at a dealer in whichever country.I can travel around the world more or less for free, so it mightactually end up cheaper to travel halfway across the world insteadof having to pay outrageous import taxes when ordering over thenet.It is important that the shop is serious, and that it has a decentwarranty and price. Especially if it is a net shop, I don't want toend up paying a lot of money for a fake. Tell me about yourexperiences with ordering over the net, and price differencesbetween countries (if any).
MOVADO WATCHES : I bought a Museum in all stainless in July of '94. The back of thewatch had a sticker on it with an approximate date that the batterywould need replacement. I think the date was somewhere in '96. Themanual states battery life, depending on the model, should be 12-24months. Well, here we are, over five years later, and the watch is stillrunning perfectly on the original battery! The manual also states ittakes a 1.55 volt silver-oxide but doesn't mention the number (392, 377,etc.) When the time comes, I'll change it myself, but prefer not to openit until that time comes. Soooo, does anyone know what type of miracle battery is in thiswatch?PS-- Although I'm not a big fan of quartz watches and collect mostlyautomatics, this has been the best quartz watch I've ever owned.
