NOMINATION BRACELET CHARMS : - an anklet made by the same lady, sterling silver with tiny cylinders of various shades of jasper. It's elegant and delicate yet hippy-ish and funky.- a diamond cluster "dinner ring" that I inherited from my MIL. She had it hand-made using the stones from the engagement ring that her first husband gave her (FIL was her second husband).I have a bunch of other handcrafted pagan-themed jewelry that's pretty unique, but it has a rather specific appeal so I won't bother to list it all! I'm much more the handcrafted/funky jewelry type than the fine jewelry type.*My Nomination charm bracelet - it's unique because no one else has the samecharms in the same order as I do (well at least I don't think so!).*White gold class ring with a ruby and cubic zirconias and engraving - veryelegant and unique for a class ring. It's the "windswept" ring onartcarved.com/college.*A silver ring with a dolphin going around it. There is also a light pinkstone on it - purchased from Hawaii about 10 years ago*Red Hermes knockoff Avon watch with a heart dangle - so cute and I've neverseen anything else like it.*Tiffany silver heart tag bracelet - the engraving makes it unique
NOMINATION BRACELET CHARMS : -- My grandmother's pearls -- graduated, I guess the strand is 16" or so. Iabsolutely adore this necklace.-- My diamond ring used to be kind of unique as it's a 3 stone ring with alarger stone between 2 smaller stones. And then the jeweler's came up with thiswhole "past, present, future" crap and my ring is no longer unique.-- My wedding band -- I've never seen another like it, it's gold with tinyflowers engraved. We got them from a company in New Jersey that doesn't actuallymake the rings until you order them. I don't wear or have much jewelry, but I do have one gorgeous piece whichI'd consider unique and I love for sentimental reasons--an antique14K/precious topaz (my birthstone) pin that my best friend and her familygave me for college graduation. The gold floral pattern is delicate andradiates from the the oval stone which is set in an east-west manner. Iwear it on one of my wool coats, but I wind getting paranoid if I have toleave my coat anywhere, so it usually winds up in my pocket (sad becauseit's so pretty).
NOMINATION BRACELET CHARMS : 1. My puzzle ring. Gold, four piece, worn on the middle finger of my left hand. I spent my childhood in Tehran and before we moved back to the States, this was a gift from my parents. It's of a quality you won't see in any puzzle rings you can buy here, and I've had it (and managed not to lose it!) for 24 years.2. My Claddagh ring. Silver, an unusual style - larger and flatter than most. Got it from a silversmith in upstate NY. I was greatly relieved on my recent trip to Ireland to see that people there actually do wear them, and that they're not just an American affectation.3. Silver bracelet, my gift to myself for surviving my last job. Purchased on vacation in Key West (said vacation also gift for surviving said job) from a silversmith in Mallory Square. I went back three times before I decided to get it - it's unlike anything else I own, heavier than what I normally gravitate to. Alternating links that resemble waves and fleur-de-lys, deeply carved and detailed.
NOMINATION BRACELET CHARMS : 4. Silver wire cuff bracelet with small crystal beads. What makes this unusual is that the wire is knitted, so it looks a bit like chain mail but more delicate. Nothing expensive, I got it at Top Shop in London, but it always gets compliments.1. silver serpent armband -- very simple lines, kinda deco -- customdesigned by my SO that he had made, all based on an off-hand comment thatI've always wanted a serpent armband like the one I saw in 4th grade duringa ramses II exhibit. :) I don't really get a chance to wear it too much,but the thought that he put into it makes it very special.2. jade/diamond/white gold necklace from my grandmother. It's a white goldphoenix with a diamond studded tail sitting in a curved perch with 3baguette jade pieces hanging from 3 fine, staggered length white goldchains. The entire pendant is maybe 1-1.5" long. I'm small, so I prefertiny but intricate jewelry -- this is perfect.
NOMINATION BRACELET CHARMS : 3. elaborate black/pearly smoke beaded chocker necklace bought on impulse infrance. I wear it about 1x/month and always get compliments.4. teeny blue & gold old-world style globe pendent (even has the arc-holderthing like a real globe) from my mother. It's smaller than a dime, but thecontinents are pretty nicely rendered.Whoops, forgot one, a pink/white cameo set in sterling silver, purchased from a manufacturer of cameos in Italy. I have not seen any cameos set in silver since visiting this factory.--a white gold filigree (hand-detailed) diamond and sapphire ring from the1920s which belonged to my maternal grandmother. It is a rectangular shape,divided in to 2 squares, with a diamond in the middle of each square. Thereare 6 brilliantly blue small sapphires, one in each corner, and two on eitherside of the center, and they're mounted in a such a way the light comes throughand they glow. I loved my grandmother very very much and I treasure this ringas she wore it for every family event.
