I have, with oneexception, yet to see any other expressions of faith. It's not as if therearen't Catholics, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Buddhists, Muslims,agnostics, pagans, Jehovah's Witnesses, or any other representatives of thevariety of belief systems out there. But in Ms. Watson's world, only onepoint of view seems to exist. It happens to be, in an overall globalcontext, a distinct minority view, but one that is increasingly loud to thepoint of drowning out all others. It's not just that Ms. Watson's page is one-sided. She really hasn'tmuch to say about issues of faith that isn't vapid, shallow, and ultimatelymeaningless. It's like junk food for the soul. Things like "ChristianWeight Loss Programs" (I guess everyone else is shedding pounds for thedevil, huh?) are ludicrous to those of us who take our beliefs somewhatseriously. Ms. Watson also seems to have picked up the idea somewhere thatthe function of a period in a news column is to tell the reader "look out,here comes a new paragraph!" Aside from her poor writing skills, shallow content, one-sidedcoverage, and ill-informed stories, Ms. Watson's journalism isn't too bad.
