WATCHES DRESS : Does anybody else have a problem with not being able to wear quartz watches? Iswear it is the truth, I can put on a fully functioning quartz watch, even witha brand new battery and within a half hour it has stopped. For a long time thebatteries would only last about a month and I had to replace them. Swatchwatches, cheap discount store watches, even an expensive Gucci watch and aSeiko watch (both were graduation presents). Recently, it got to the pointwhere just wearing them around would cause them to stop running then after Itook them off would start up again.The watchmaker told me it happens sometime and it may all of the sudden quithappening someday. He put a kind of a rubber shield in my Gucci and Citizendress watches. They lasted a little longer but did not keep good time. By theend of the day they's be very off.
WATCHES DRESS : So, seeing as I can no longer wear a quartz battery watch of any make or model,I have been searching Ebay and antique stores for good wind-up watches. I would like a kinetic watch, but I found a few great Timex wind-ups that arein mint condition that work just fine. A dress watch, a casual watch, and asporty watch. I also have a little cheapo quartz "clip" watch I can clip tothe inside of my purse or belt pack or tote bag when I do not want awristwatch. There are some great wind-ups out there, and self-winding/kinetic in thepawnshops, antique shops, and on Ebay. I found my 2 womens's Timex, the dressand casual watches for about $8 apeice online, the mens' Timex without a band,that I put on a sport band was $10 at an antique market.
